what could it be??? i put in a new VSS, the vtec solenoid is fine, oi pressure is good too. i dont know what it is!! its getting frustrating. i put my friends ecu in he car and vtec kicked just fine. you guys think it could be my ecu?? its a p28 skunk2 ecu. my car redlines at 8300rpm. and it said it should redline at about 9000rpm with the ecu?? i have no idea but i think its the ecu. any help is appreciated thanks for all your help.
is the car obd2? or did you use an obd1 p28 with a conversion harness? did you run an obd2 or obd 1 computer (friends computer) when it kicked... if it worked with the obd2 ecu and ur car is obd2 then u didnt use the jumper harness... but if you are using the harness to connect the ecu which wont let vtec kick (obd1 p28) then the problenm may be in the harness- if everything else works and it drives fine that it could be a bad connection in the harness? just my .02. sorry if what i sadi was confusing.. i just got home fro an intense party and im a bit gone lol. happy nw year
have you done any recent overhauling of the engine? you may want to check the oil pressure.. oil pump ... and there should be this lil o- ring under the middle cap on the head.... check those... and best of luck
