any one got experiance with these
i need to run a -6 line from my stock tank. . only problem is its not a honda its a vw gti and it has a plastic tank
i am thinking of ways to eliminate the stock crap b/c its old and crap and rusting just worthless ..
figure i can leave the stock return line but for the feed to a inline walbro 255 i was thinking of "tapping " into the tank with one of these fuel cell bulkhead fittings .. [IMG]
[/IMG] theres alot of plastic fuel cells that run these so i dont see how it would leak , as my stock tank is the same concept as thoes plastic cells just a diff shape ..
i could mount it in the lowest part of the tank
this way i dont haveto drop bank on installing a fuel cell properly / and i can still maintain alot of the stock stuff .. i.e filler neck , sending unit ext ..
anyone got experiance with bulkhead fittings ?

in my experience they work well but i think you will have a real hard time finding the lowest point closest to the rear of that fuel tank that won't have road clearance issues. I don't know of any cheap safe way to sump a plastic tank. but you might want to look into using the factory pickup some how????

i think ground clearance whont be a problem .. tank sits behind the rear beam and up into the body alittle .. one of thes with a 90 or 45 angle should work .. +++ im not going to be slammed ..

not for bling .. my stock systme is pritty much rotted away .. its not even going to be stainless .. im gonna run some socketless fuel hose .. and i figure the monye spent on stock stuff .. might as well adapt it to what i need .. reson for this aswell is b/c the stock systmes on mk2 gti is all garbage .. its not like you honda guys .. but well not get into it .. and im runing standalone ..
than you still have the issue of the fuel sloshing around, normally in a sump or a stock tank you would have baffles. or you could just always have at least a 1/3 of a tank of gas at all times.(no hard turns under acceleration, especially with that solid rear axle,3 wheel motion
)

true .. but i was also thinking .. runing the fitting threw the tank .. then a low pressure fule pump to feed a accumilator tank where the stock one was .. then from ther the walbro .. wala .. only think i wasnt shure of was the fitting leaking and what not ..
thanks
