spray it with some pb blaster, come back in 15 mintues and put a 5' pipe over the breaker bar and give it hell. it will come off.

If you are using an impact wrench with an extension it wont work. The extension flexes absorbing the power.

Try to get the impact wrench with just a socket.

Some penatrant spray helps. pb, brake cleaner, deep creep, liquid wrench, wd40 ect.

Also try putting a strap wrench on the pulley. But it sounds like its not budging.

Or you'll break your breaker bar and slam your knuckles into the ground, not fun .

Take it to a shop and have them take an impact to it.

that's not a breaker bar...you use that in conjuction with a breaker bar (it locks keeps the pulley from turning) to get the bolt free...i have one sitting in my garage, got the bolt out with minimal effort (we had impacted, used really long breaker bars alone, all that ****...once i got the bar, bolt came loose just like that)

This might sound dumb, but when you used your 550ft-lb impact gun you sure you went the right way? Because if you didnt you screwed yourself some more by tightening that bitch up more.

To keep the flywheel from moving, put it in first gear and have someone slam the breaks. Good luck.

heating =

when you heat it up it expands and if you get it off then, then everything is okay. but now that it cooled down it actually gets smaller and will be even harder to get off now. also, if you are using an impact, don't just squeeze the trigger and keep pounding on it. the most powerful hits are within the firts three bumps of the impact gun. so just tap it a few times and it should come off. that is what i had to do with one of mine. on another one i just couldn't get off, so i just took it down to a shop and they got it off for me in no time. no shame in having a shop help you with your ****.

I just lock the crank pulley in place with my crank pulley tool then use a breaker bar and floor jack to break it loose. Just position the breaker bar so that you can place a jack under it, pump it a few times and as the jack lifts up the bolt will break loose. Works EVERY time.

get that crank pulley holder.. and a 19mm socket and a long breaker bar.. jack the car up high enough so that the breaker bar doesnt hang or hit the floor.. and just give it a good kick at the breaker bar. It should come off. If i were u.. i wouldnt keep ******* around with it or you mite break something or make something worse.

Heating it will also weaken the material that keeps the crank pulley together causing it to break apart like so:

First of all, do a search. This has been covered infinity times

i did the same as everyone above. broke like 2 sockets,4 screwdrivers,etc...

you just have to keep soaking it and keep pounding it if you want it to come off.

patience

Good Luck

dont use any extentions. i always see people using like 10 extentions so the rachet is way out next to the bumper. dont do that.

get the front of the car raised up high enough to place a strong breaker bar directly on the pulley, hanging down. then sit down on the ground placing your foot on the breaker bar and hold the underside of the front of the car near the front jack point and push. always works for me.

lol. engine is out of the car.

if it was in the car, this would be cakewalk.

so.. i got it. i used a volleyball pole over my breaker bar.

i had to lean the motor on a support pole in my garage, and strap it against it so it wouldnt tip over.

ghetto, but it worked.
