just installed tein springs, 1.5" drop, why is my car on the ground??????????!!!!!
i think maybe they sent me the wrong springs? supposed to be 1.6" drop in the front, and 1.5" in the back? the freakin tires rub the front fenders, and the muffler scraps in the back. is it possible it is an installation error? previous owner had coilovers in, and i think maybe he threw out some stock retainers, but even if i am missing some stock spring retainer part or something i don think it should be this low. its cool and all but i know i will get pulled over and all that hard work of grinding out two rusted bolts will be lost.
also it makes that common clacking sound, like the strut bearing is bad, but it never mad it before, i tried to search and found nothing. anyone know the deal?
if i turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and right limits, you can hear it clack like the tie rod is clicking, but when you are driving over bumps it clacks like the spring is loose in there or sometihng, dont know what the deal is, any help?
also i put in kyb agx struts.
thanks all. and happy new yearrS~!

sorry about that.
thanks for the picture that helps a lot! i was trying to find a haynes manual but no one had one in stock for my year.
anyways, i dont have number 8, what is this for? and would this, not being in, make my car lowwer than it is supposed to be?
9,2 and 12 dont look familiar either but that is all part of the dust cover that i dont really need.
thanks.

Make sure the springs are for the same make, model, and year of your car. Good luck
i think if the springs were for a 92-00 civic that it would sit higher. the car looks fine to me about the same as my 91 hatch. but it is a 2.5 drop. so the drop springs might be wrong as far as the drop.

Are you sure the shocks were assembled correctly.

I'm betting he didn't install washer #11 on and that why it sits slammed. I made a mistake 12 years ago when I installed my first set of springs. that washer serves as a base link so the rest of the bushings and springs don't bottom out to the end of the shocks.

is this the washer that sits on the tapered part of the shock rod? i have that washer in, and the only thing that sits under it is the bump stop bushing, and then everything else is on top, strut bearing and all.
i dont have number 8 and 13 either they seem like they could add an inch maybe. i dont see why it would be so low though. the picture is in my driveway and it is uneven so the back side actually looks higher, (the passenger side is sitting lower)
but this is a huge problem it is way to low. it is lower than when i first bought the car, THEN it was slammed, i have a j-b welded oil pan because of that and the bump stops that were on it before were completely chewed away and the struts were jello filled. so it is way to low for me. i like the look but i hate lowered cars ever since i bought this pos. the undercarrige is all scuffed up which is leading to rust, lines are scuffed up, flywheel cover bolts are bent, cat back all bent up. it sucks i hate lowered cars i want this bitch as high as stock!
any help appreciated.
until then, going to advanced or autozone tom. to order haynes manual. checking junkyard and dealership for missing parts.
thanks everybody.
also if that washer #11 is installed incorrectly, i dont see how it would make it so low? but missing maybe but it is definatley there. thanks.

well now i definatley know i have that washer in right, it is to keep the strut rod from coming up any further thats what i figured when i put it in.
so if this washer is in right WTF could be wrong??????????!

make sure it is # 11 and not # 2 cause 2 will not work. the shaft will go right threw that one. but yeah it is possible that if you dont have that upper bushing that it might make it sit lower. and you were saying that you dont have # 8 that will prolly just make the ride noisey.
