Are real JDM blackhousing a lot different from the knockoffs? 5thGen 94-97.
I was just wondering if anyone has a 5th gen and had the knockoff jdm blackhousing and if they are a lot different or fit different or look or perform different from the real stanley ones. just want to know because I could spend a lot for real or get brand new knockoffs for about half. TIA!

My 6th gen ones are ebay knock-offs, and im very happy with them, but i cant speak for true jdm ones as i have never owned them. Im using sylvania silverstar low beams with cool blue highs and they perform much better than the projectors that i had in terms of both fitment and performance.

i have the real JDM ones. i would definately suggest spending the extra money on the real ones, cuz just like TxTuner said, you run the risk of having bad fitment. The only thing bad about the real stanley ones is that they are setup for RHD, which means that the light beam is pointed higher in the direction of oncoming traffic. as to where if they were USDM, they would be pointed higher on the passenger side of the car so that you can see the edge of the road.
ya i got jdm crx lights and they do that AVcTcEoCrd, how much did u spend on ur lights if i may ask.

I put the Depo style jdm lights and they fit on my car just fine. Why spend the extra $400-$500 when you can get the same look. I got mine on ebay for $220 shipped....

Stanley JDM headlights aim to the left side to avoid blinding drivers in RHD countries. This can be fixed with a little adjustment.
Depo headlights fit perfect. A little silicon may be needed to avoid fogging up of the housings. Depos are aimed to the right to avoid blinding drivers in LHD countries.
Depo corners and Stanley USDM headlights are the ones that need a little work to make fit. All you need to do is dremel some of the headlight bracket off the corners to fit the Depo lenses. You may need to drill if neccessary.

If you look around you can find real ones for just a little more then the fakes. DON'T get fakes. They leak, they don't fit well (in some cases), and they're fake
I picked up my authentics on ebay for $250 (with the $80 PIAA bulbs included) like new. Apparently they were used but they looked brand new. Best of all they don't leak and fit like a condom. Get real

I got my knock offs about 3 years ago. They were nice when they were new. The beam was good and bright, there was a nice LHD cutoff perfect for USDM. But after two years and not much washing and lots of bugs, the outside of the lense started oxidizing. The corners sometimes fogs too. I should have gotten Real ones but back then it was 500+ for real and the fakes were only like 230 shipped.
