Skunk2 vs Ground Control
Hello.
I am just curious as to what you guys have experienced/heard of these two coilovers. My next check is going to be decent so I will have some money and I am planning on purchasing some coilovers for my RSX. I have heard that the quality of the two is about the same but I am just seeing what people prefer. Please give me your reviews, problems, props, and pics of your car running on them.
Thanks

Cheaper. Good shocks. Not adjustable, so probably not appropriate for the full-time racer.

You can get 'em cheaper from kteller.com, but yeah they are more expensive than just springs. Sorry for not being clear (or, for being wrong).
Were you going to run the Skunk2/GC kit with stock shocks? Crappy ride, underdamped.
So yeah, it's cheaper than other coilovers with a nice shock like Koni ($550) or even a cheaper shock for $300. Plus you get to adjust these up/down without affecting the preload.
Anyhow, good luck.
I'm running the Omnipower Sports on my ITR. I really like them but haven't taken them to the track yet (will be in February, VIR)

Ah ic what you were saying. Yeah I was talking about with stock shocks. GC they make them for stock shocks so is the ride still bad? I am also talking to a guy at a dealer about a trade for a type s. The thing is he doesnt know its a type s
so I might save my money for that. Thanks for tips... keep them comin

Personally I think the GC and S12 are both junk. GC being the less if the 2 evils. I would just get some good qaulity springs until you could afford something better like the omnipower or some tein flex's.

Please explain why Ground Control is "Junk." How are they some of the best quality, and most popular suspension components to both road racers, autocrossers, and other tuners.

i wonder why people dislike skunk2's so much? their springs are made by the same company that ground control use (eibach) and i used it on many of my cars and i have yet to have a single problem w/ it.

Eibach does NOT make springs for Skunk2.

GC's rock for the price. They use the Eibach prolines I believe. I have them on my ep, great ride for a slammed car. My friend had Skunk2, and swapped them out for GC's, he said the ride was way too harsh with the Skunks.
My bro has some GC coilovers in his EP3 and they ride NICE. Easy to adjust and not bumpy like most coilovers. Overall very nice, haven't tried the S2's yet but the GC's impressed me. Worth the money paid!

The GC`s use springs specifically designed for them, which are wound by Eibach. I actually go through their designs every so often just to ensure each one is achieving maximum travel. For replacement springs, they offer the Eibach ERS springs, which are available in a ton of various rates. These springs are also designed for maximum travel, strength and durability. Eibach ERS springs are number one in Nascar, F1, WRC, CART, etc..
