Power Windows are really slow in the freezing cold
I have 2000 EM1
When it is really cold like -10 C or below my power windows work badly.
They are really slow.
They work a little better when it is warmer.
In general Honda Power Windows seem to suck. Maybe it is just Civic ones.
Anybody else have problems with the power windows when it is really cold.

Have you been lubricating them regularly like you're supposed to do with the silicone spray?

I was amazed that there was actually a maintenance schedule for these damn things. I guess I'll pull my foor panels off one day and lube them up. It's been almost 5 years and 58K miles. I think they're about due.

You can get the spray from Canadian Tire, it's in a generic CT "Motomaster" red spray can with a white top on it and it's called "silicone spray" or dry silicone spray or something like that. It also has a spray tube that comes with it on the can like WD-40 does. You don't need to take your door apart to do it just stick the spray extension tube down into the window channels and give it a real good spray for a couple seconds. Spray down at the back of the window and the front part of the window where it slides down into the door. Do this everytime you change your oil or a little more frequently if you find the windows starting to bind up on you and slow down.
Do you need to remove the door panels to spray the tracks with silicone?
Or can you just spray the tracks the window goes into in the top half of the door? (Door Window Frame)

yep for sure, I'll definitely be around. I'm working on doing a JDM ITR swap over the winter (or some variation of it) plust some S2 stage 2 cams and a few other upgrades, so I should have it at the track for a few good runs I would think.
yep I do, but I'll probably hit the drag strip a bit more since that'll be a better place to enjoy the car's upgraded power. Last time I was Shubie my tires were literally melting from driving...lol
There's one down in Liverpool/Bridgewater known as Greenfield, it's an old air strip. Then the other is in PEI at Oyster Bed Bridge. Sydney has one too but I've never been to that one before.
just lubricate the rubber tracks that hold in the window...
this is what i used on mine...not sure if u can get it in stores since my dad just came home with it from his work one day...
