Default Flux Core Welding

Well i welded up my exhuast, and i had to do it with my stupid flux core shitty walmart welder. Is there any tricks to welding with a flux core? On any position other than flat the bead is screwed. Flat is ok, the only thing I can figure is that the shield gas from the wire is to heavy and falls away from the puddle. The welds are decient on the parts i can actually move to put in the flat position but that was only like 3 welds. Anyways next time i want to do it a little cleaner, any tips? (other than get a mig/tig )

Try welding downhill. You may have better success with it that way.

if your welds are being effected by gravity (drippy) then pause frequently so the bead can solidify. the longer you hold the trigger, the heavier the blob and worse it will sag. 2 second squeezes with slightly higher heat, since it will cool faster during pause.
