Default Question for S2k owners

I've been pondering the idea of selling my S2000.
The fact is that I spend 366 a month on my baby, plus I have to squirl away 178 extra a month for taxes(thanks state of CT) and insurance costs.

I love this car more then any other car I've driven or owned, but my goals are starting to change. I want a house, and possibly to buy a business as I'm tired of corporate America and it's bullshit.

Do you guys think I could possibily get 19,000 or 18,500 for my 2000 NFR with 36.5K on it?? It has new front tires (S02s) The rears are low, but usable. The car is not a daily driver and is very clean. It was in some sort of fender bender before I bought the car (had a driver's fender, hood and bumper replaced) but it's hard to tell this was done, as the body work was done well on the car). No mods, just clear turn signals and a 2002 S2k shift ****. So, what do you guys think, is my price too high?

Oh yeah, it comes with the amber turn signals and a complete set of OEM 02 S2k rims with no tires too!!

Honestly...around here, you'd be looking at maybe $15-$17K for it...at best, i know my brothers brokerage lot had a couple, both with around 25K miles and they were selling them off for $19K and $21K ($21,000 was for the one with a hardtop and axis rims)...given its the first year, its got the plastic rear window still (i assume) and the fact its been in an accident...id say if you can sell it for $17K without losing any money on the deal because of negative equity, do it...

Thats just my opinion though...we had a mildly fixed up 2000 EJ6 civic hatchback with an automatic transmission and 70K miles on it, it looked really nice, had a system and everything and we ended up selling it for $12,000 because a 16 year old fell in love with it, had alot of influence over his father and his father had a nice deep pocket...so anything is possible, to this day i cant believe we sold our car for what we did, so hey, dont let anything keep your plan down...if you want $19K for it, thats what you should try to get...sell it up though man, make sure you include all the gimicky tricks real salesmen do and if you stick it in autotrader, really focus on the things that make this car special...it makes it stand out to people, and you just might find the right buyer, but have patience, took us almost 2 months and about 20 turn downs to get what we never thought out of our civic...

Good luck man. Take some good pictures if you decide to sell it online...make 'em realize why you love it so much.

Thanks for some good advice. I'm really torn right now, I definitely don't want to take a loss on it, I think I'd rather keep the car then sell it for a loss, but I don't know.... Ugh.

03 is more expensive then an 00... regardless..... keep in mind.. the extra things the 03 comes with.... revised ecu, glass rear window, rear defroster, leather center consol, leather wrapped shift ****, 2 extra speakers (tweeters) and a few other things..... so just on those things along.. the 03 will cost more then the 00....

Also keep in mind that a dealer can adjust costs all around to make trade in look incredible if your buying a car from them...hell, i could get a dealer to say they gave me $40K for our S2000 if i wanted to...id be paying a **** load on whatever car i bought from them but i could still say "Hey, i sold my S2000 for $40,000!"
