well any d series will fit, i believe.

But i think in your case you would want the Z6. It has the shortest gears, if i'm not mistaken.

yes, any D-series tranny will fit.

if you need a new tranny, get a D16Y8 tranny. best D-series tranny.
it practically has the same gearing as the D16Z6, but stronger shift forks.

Z6 tranny - aluminum shift forks
Y8 tranny - steel shift forks

Y8 > Z6

There's usually a couple of each in the classifieds at any given moment.

Do yourself a favour and get the Vti tranny (with LSD) from Japan, they're available in Toronto all the time, look on the TCC boards or contact Adrian at Hyperduck. I've got one in my EG and it's the best Mod I ever did (for Solo2 anyway). Should be able to find one for less than $500...

the Vti tranny would be sweet if only if you can find them.
can't find it then I recommend the Y8 tranny

I belive the D15b2 tranny in japan also has LSD, its a 1.5vtec, the swaps with tranny are
cheap so I would assume the tranny it self would be super cheap.
