To add to the mile long list of **** that is wrong/broken/missing/not working on my accord is the drivers window does not roll up/down now. Well actually, it rolls down, but only half of it ( the front half ). When I roll it down the back corner sticks up like a shark find coming out of water (sorry that's the only mental image I could think of). The motor seems to be working, but the back half of the window doesn't seem to be "catching" or whatever you want to call it.
Is that a DIY fix or do I need a buy a new part to fix it? I plan on sitting my *** outside tomorrow in the freezing cold MI ******* weather and taking the panel off to see if I can fix it. Just wanted to know what I am getting myself into. Thanks guys.
It's a 4 door 1990 EX by the way.

might just need some tightening on the screws(or whatever they are) holding the glass. or maybe a peice broke off of it? check it out.

I was reading some posts on here about people with similar problems on their accords. The thing is though is that the window on mine would roll up, but it was off track (wouldn't roll up straight, there was like a 1" gap between the window and the door sill when rolled up). I was trying to get it straightened out and then when I went to roll it down again, it just wouldnt move. I think I might have applied to much force on it and fucked it up. I'll have to wait and see.
I want to go outside right now but it's pouring rain and cold as hell. Thanks for the help guys

So, I am driving to a friends house and make an attempt to roll up the window. Bad idea. The window shattered in my face. The slider that holds the window is ( i have NO idea how ) bent to ******* **** and I'm guessing it pressed too hard againts the window inside the door and shattered it. This sucks

aww man..that sucks! yea mine had a gap when it rolled up so i tired to straighten it just like u did and the window juss slowy fell down like there was nothin holdin it cuz i fucked up the cable thing

God I'm pissed. I should have just waited untill I got home to fix the ******* window instead of trying to roll it up
I got two quotes today. One said $170 and the other said $285. I also have to wait untill MONDAY to get it fixed becuase the window distrubutor is closed until then. That ALSO sucks becuase I have to go to school downstate monday so I have to drive 200 miles with a garbage bag window
I swear this ******* car is cursed. Stupid piece of ****.

I actually removed the regulator and straightenend it all out so it works pretty damn good now.
Has anyone actually had experience installing a window? I would like to order one off ebay and install it myself, or should I just "leave it to the pros". My only worry is actually getting the window in there straight you know.

when my switch went bad, i didnt know what it was at first...took almost an hour just to figure out that window was still on the regulator track, and that the motor was still good

ya i have window problems too. front right (passenger) rolls up super slow and it sounds like it needs some grease bc it skips back up. i had to disconnect the back right bc one day i rolled it down and it never came back up. had to take the door apart, roll it up with my hand and then disconnect it so it cant roll up or down anymore. whenever i go to the carwash i hafta put a towel up towards the top bc theres a lil place where water leaks out

installing a window is easy. but you have to have at least seen an install.
anyway the things to note are :
-bring the regulator up so its ready to catch the glass
-you slide the glass from the outside not from the inside (pretty obvious since it wont fit)
-bring the glass down together with the regulator. notice there will be 2 holes where you can tighten the glass to the regulator
-oh by the way, clean the weather strips (rubber where the glass actually slides) and lubricate with armor all. clean the regulator with degreaser and re-apply fresh grease. do this first before you do anything
good luck

Yes, sometimes I'd rather have manual windows. Sometimes they work like a champ, and other times it takes 30 seconds to close the windows. Damn windows.

So will the window just slide into place or is there some kind of fitting issue I have to work with?

when i replaced the rear drivers side window in my accord it took me prolly an hour to figure out how to get it in and align it with the fitment issues... never seen one installed before so i kinda had to wing it.
tools: flat head and philip screwdriver. a 8 socket or 10 can't remember. and a bottle of glass glue so u can glue the bottom of the glass to its stand so ur window won't slide out when u roll down window. make sure the bars in teh panel are good or else ur window will slide out of place when rolling it up. i just did it to a friends car today and its working like a charm.

Well, I am dumb. Instead of ordering a window off ebay and waiting a couple weeks for it to be delivered, I just called a glass company. I didn't really want to wait for a window either while my car sat out in the college parking lot with a piece of cardboard as my only means of security. I thought there would be SOME kind of technical work involved. I was wrong. The guy slid the window in, screwed it in, and rolled it up. Oh well.
I took all the panels and wires and plastic **** off the door to save the guy some time and save me some money. It was $120 so that's not TOO bad I guess. If it happens again I will know how to fix it though lol
