ok here's the deal, i've got a 93 hatch with a jdm itr swap but the dizzy seems to be giving me some problems.
Everything seems to be ok but the tach jumps around at 5k and vtec engages at around 5400.
(Complete Tune up done a few weeks ago and motor is strong)
Specs:
97 jdm itr motor/tranny
99 usdm gsr wire harness
99 usdm gsr distributor
P28 chipped 5400 crossover 9100 rev limit
So my question to you guys is if you have this swap or one similar to it what dizzy are you running?
and if your running a different dizzy are you having any problems?

I don't think your dizzy is the problem. It sounds more likely that you have a loose connection or a frayed wire in the wiring going directly to the tachometer. Check the continuity at various places throughout the harness.
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

personally, i used my stock civic wire harness on my itr swap, just swapped connectors where needed, and lengthened the o2 wires. my distributor is the stock 97 itr distributor, just with obd1 guts (essentially the same as the 94/95 gsr distrib.) for ecu, i used to use a p28, but have since gone j's tuned p30.
i agree with kendall, double check all wires (especially solid blue) on the distributor.

Ive got a 96 B18C Itr swap in my 94...I used the stock dizzy except a gsr ingnitor module. plus I used my D16z6 engine harness (just swapped connectors where needed) and made a obdI-obdII adapter...cause I new I was gonna convert it back to 0bdI when I got the turbo.
your problem is definatly in the wiring.
first step would be to check your rpm signal to ground.
if you get continuity to ground thats your problem. if not check all of your splices if any.
If that dosent narrow it down...just say F---- it and get an external coil and run the rpm signal off of that.

I had the same problem with mine. But what happend to me what that when we put the motor in some coolant spilled out of the block because the hoses were off and got into the spedo connector. So my tach was jumpping around. If you take some brake cleaner and spray it in the connection on the tranny it will clean it out and evaporate all cleaned.
Just what happend to me .....

Try coming off the blue wire on the dizzy with a connector and going to your tach wire at the wireharness under the hood on the driver side. You'll see it, it looks like a little black plug with 2 wires coming off of it.
