Default EP OWNERS !! HELP ME !!!

im looking into buying a new car. i was considering the new 2005 honda civic si (the new body, headlights, and tailights version). can someone tell me the pros and cons about this car ? my car right now is an EK. i just want something new. the civic si is perfect for my price range. i have some questions about this car....

what is the difference between the '02 style EP and the '05 EP ?

are the honda optional lip kit similar to the CTR ones ?

is the honda optional rear wing similar to the CTR wing ?

is it worth swappin a type-s head on it ?

what kinda 1/4 mile times can an EP hit ?

EP owners run n/a or f/i ?

is this thing too heavy ?

im not feeling the headlights and tailights...can i use the '02 ctr headlights and taillights ?

any info would help really much !! so far i might consider gettin an EP.....but i have second thoughts. and i cant really find another car cuz of the price range. if only an rsx type-s was around 19k then id get that in a heartbeat....remember guys....this is the only car thats worth the 16-19k price range for me. thanks fellow HT members !!

not sure about the mugen kit. si motor?...do you mean teh ctr motor. there is the k20a3(si), k20a2(rsx-s), and k20(itr, ctr).
k20a3- 160hp, 132tq
k20a2- 200hp, 143tq
k20a- 220hp, 150tq, lsd tranny
the rally shifter is great, close to steering column. the only short shifter is the neuspeed adapter for $100. some like it, easy install. there's an install guide and write-up on k-series.

You'd need the front and rear bumpers and either the UKDM or JDM rebar, or tell the body shop how to cut the USDM rebar. Either way, it's not expensive.

Generally speaking, yes, you would gain more by working on the K20A3 and turning it into something else.

There are several "sweet spots" for the amount of money to invest, depending on whether you want all motor or forced induction. If you're anywhere near them, Jack Harris's P1 Auto in Carolina was one of the first people to get involved in the EP3 and he will have enough knowledge to do whatever you want.

I think it's one of the best points of the car's design. If one must use a cable shifter, it's nice that it's within a hand's width of the steering wheel.

In fact, I got so used to it that I installed a shifter on my DC2 ITR that brought it close to the steering wheel.

The EP3 CTR is going to depend on the market in which it was sold.

There is, for example, a difference in HP between the JDM EP3 CTR and the UKDM EP3 CTR.

The Torsen axle LSD is an option on the UKDM EP3 CTR. I am not sure about whether it is on the JDM EP3 CTR.

what is the dif between 02&05 ep3? HDlites,TLlites, 5 lug, rear sway bar, some chrome details inside & floor mats.
are the honda hfp lip kit similar to ctr ones? No, the side skirts are a little.
is the honda hfp rear wing similar to ctr wing? Yes, it fits the car & painted to match
is it worth swaping a type-s head on it? Yes, unles yor gona buy a itr or ctr motor.
what kind of 1/4 mile times can an ep hit? stock 16.2/ bolt ons 14.2/ & diet high 13.
ep owners N/A or F/I? hondas are made to be N/A if they wanted them F/I they'd sell them F/I.
is this thing to heavy? No but a diet wont hurt.
why by a type-s when you can buy an ep3? buy the ep3 them build the motor and you'll have a better car-smaller, lighter, and faster.
Stock HD lites & TL lites? on 03-05 yuuck. I highly recommend any ctr parts.
I own an 02 ep3 and hit 16.2 fully stock last summer. I have spent the last couple of months putting on mild bolt ons such as spoon and mugen and a strick diet.
it will have full interior still when i run the 1/4 mile this summer in the 14's
i hope you make the right decision so your not stuck with payments on a car that you wont like. good luck.

JDM/NA/keep it clean.....
