Default NEW CRX AND HONDA OWNER!

Hey i'm 17 and i'm ******* with a CRX Hf Model. I have plans on dropping the new B16a1 Engine into it, New racing cam, cam gears, timing belts, headers, intakes, exhause, racing chip, and Turbo. All this is over a projected time of 1 year, to 1 1/2. I was wondering if there are any intakes of good quality that are cold-air that can be installed into the HF model. This is for just a while, i need to save up for my engine. Has a stock Supra pipe, but makes absolutely no sound. Friends say it could be because my intake and filter are messed up, car chokes a lot, like it cant bearthe and smells like Oil. So i'm just gonna buy a racing intake, after that just gonna save up for my engine. Any Suggestions, Comments? Let me know, PE@CE

whoa killer got 7 -10 g's to spend on mods? if not then cut your list down. for starters do not buy a cold air intake-hydroloc is a bitch.
second there is no point in wasting money on A SINGLE header because it would be replaced with b series turbo manifold at some point.also dont get a racing chip they do nothing but advance timing and **** things up"depending on what the chip is for, with the exception of speed gov and rev limiter gone" there is no point what so ever.chill out and just spend a while reading up.good luck man

Well its completly stock and the filter is fucked. Car is mint and i'm looking to spend around 2g on the full swap, mounts, axels, shifter linkage, and disc brakes. Around another 1500 on mods. I still need a new intake, which is what i'm hoping people will reply to. Anyone know good places around NY for cheap? Thanks

for now i would replace the fuel filter and intake filter. $15 bucks for a fuel filter and about $25 for a air cleaner.
you can buy a complete swap from steve a http://www.hmotorsonline.com hes a good guy to do buisness with.the stuff you desire costs a little more than what you intend to spend. i would try the for sale forum on here,i find deals all the time i wish i had money for.good stuff and cheap prices.personally i would just fix the little simple **** and then go all out when you save up enough cash,do every thing at once.

yea thats what i plan on doing. Just doing little inexpensive mods, make it reliable and fun to drive, and when i got around 3/4g saved up, dump it into the car. I was planning on getting a swap from these people, http://www.enginereplacement.com/, Their pretty cheap and the best thing is their around 25 minutes away from me, but i'll still keep looking around this website and that website you gave me, good looking out.

nah i'm not gonna spend money on the engine, just on making it reliable. The intake is defitnely fucked up, so thats a must. But thats pretty much all i will buy for it. i've already taken it out a lot and its hella fun to whip. Dont plan on racing it, but i do plan on driving it a lot. Hopefully with the new intake i wont get that 'choke choke' the car gives me, my pipe might actually work, and the car wont smell like oil

Welcome to CRX ownership!

Don't bother with the "Racing Intake". It wont do anything more than put your swap further down the road. If your Hf is bogging, there could be a number of causes: Distributer, fuel filter, air filter, clogged injectors, O2 sensor, timing, plug wires, or mabey a combination of some of the above. Your car in stock form is built to run at 2000 RPM - that's its sweet spot.

BTW, to see if your stock intake is causing your woes - take it off. You will be amazed at the lack of improvement.
