Default Need to pull clutch/pp in CRX does it come out the bottom or the top?

Did a search with several phrases and could not get any results. Have a Spec clutch/PP set up which needs to come out. Think a strap on the PP failed (after 5 hours on track). Someone else put it all in when I did my hasport tranny conversion to drop in a jdm ITR tranny into the 88 CRX B18c . Does that sucker have to come out of the bottom or can it come out the top? Any tricks or things to look out for? Trying to figure out whether to tackle it in my garage or let my mechanic do it. TIA.

Easiest way to do it is through the bottom, if you only pull the tranny out.

How much patience do you have and how strong are you? You might want to use a seperate jack to lift/lower the tranny.

LOL. I am an old fart (48) so I while I like turning a wrench (now that I have a garage but "cook book" mechanical skills) blowing out my back (again from foolish younger days) ain't my style. Sears racing jack for the tranny from below. Have some time to spare this weekend. Would love to learn to do this myself with a buddy than paying someone.

Me too (54) Last time I did mine, I took it out the bottom by myself. If I had a cherry picker, I think I would just remove the engine and tranny as a unit and work on it out of the car. There is no way to balance that tranny on a jack and massage (muscle) it into place. Lift your car as high in the front as your jack will go and use jackstands. You will need room to put the tranny on your chest and shimmy under the car then lift it into place! Heavy too!
