If you're going turbo you may want to wait on that, you're already ahead of yourself. A header wasn't necessary because you'll be buying a turbo manifold. Depending on what psi you have the turbo at, you may want 2 1/2" all the way up to 3" exhaust. I would plan out a goal and head for it, there are just way too many options for turbo and performance from it, so I would try to develop what you want to do to the car, then get it taken care of.

The only reason I say this is I was at the same point when I first bought my car. I almost redid the entire exhaust and a few other things, but I would've regretted it because it didn't match my current setup. If you have the money, then by all means do it, but just doing the exhaust now is really not practical without goals.

Edit:
I also noticed you said custom catback, which isn't going to make too much of a difference. Figure out more about your turbo specs, at least what psi you would like to run, and plan from there. For example, 7-8 psi, 2 1/2" exhaust from the DOWNPIPE back. This way there is no restrictive flow the whole way. Just my .02

If you are going all-motor, I would say stick with the 2-1/4, unless you have some crazy setup planned

2 1/4 piping should be sufficient for your needs.

Haha I apologized, I read turbo and skipped the not. That what I get for posting while at work. 2 1/4" sounds good for all motor. My bad.
