how to check dizzy power. oHms/ volts? igniter, coil! HELP!!
Well i WAS leaving my gf's house my crx started fine let it warm up and i was just rolling in nuetral down the street while it idled cause i was on a hill. The car just shut off. I just bought the car and it has a brand new dizzy on it. First thing, cranks real strong. i checked the thermostat ground wiggled it around and stuff, nothin. Checked the tranny ground un bolted it and bolted it back, nothing. i unbolted the ground on the valve cover checked it out and messed with it, nothing. Puled number one plug wire off no spark at spark plug end. Pulled wire off at cap no spark from cap.
EDIT! i pulled the cap off and no spark from coil, pulled main relay fuse off put it back on and the fuel pump turned on so not that.. if i pull the dizzy off how do i check the igniter and coil top see if they are bad with a volt meter ohm meter and where to touch the needles.

take a multimeter (you do have one, right?) You set it to check resistance (Ohms) and just unplug the dizzy. Now on the distributor side of the plug, probe those connections you should read between 350-700 ohms. If you're in that area, your dizzy is good, bad wiring or ecu.
PS you have an email.
