Trying to get a K20a3 into a 01 civic EX coupe for my cousin. Tried to put a B16 in it (don't ask) but the shop couldn't do the wiring. They bought back the B16 and said they'd put a k20 into it. Now they're saying the 2001 civics are different then the 02 - 05 and that the D17 bolts up on the opposite side?

Has anyone heard anything about this, or is the guy just full of it and doesn't want to do the swap? If he is, anyone know any good shops that will do a swap in the Philly/South Jersey area?

 

The shop is wrong. Hasport makes a mount kit for the 01+ Civic's to put the K20 in, it fits fine.
