engine harness swap

Default engine harness swap

i gotta 95 dx with a sohc vtec 1.6 swap... its running on a VX harness and throwing code for o2 sensor, map, and tps... someone told me tha the vx harness will not work right,,, so anyway my boy had a ex harness laying around i was wondering if anyone know if this should fix the problem, and how hard it is to swap harnesses.... thanks guys

yea the ex harness on the ex motor should help provided you have the vtec wires run already. the vx wiring harness get crazy with that 5 wire o2. all of those codes are created all the components run off one of the same wires. i wouldnt be surprised if there was a lot more problems than what you have just mentioned

swap to the ex harness and you will be fine. you must've gotten the map and tps sensor plugs swapped. By the way the ex harness uses 4 wire o2 sensor while the vx uses the 5 wire o2 hence the code

well from the CEL's those were the only 3 codes... i bought the car with this bs swap in it... i thought vx's had vtec already i only go the engine harness for the ex today, thats all i need right? i dont need anything that runs inside correct? thanks for the replys guys

i tried switchin the plugs yesterday and the codes still came up... some told me the harness will just not work right ever..

doesnt the ex harness have vtec ran already?

no to the ecu

the harness will only take it to the gate on the strut tower. you have to take it to the ecu. but those 2 wires are the only special ones you have to worry about. i say two because even though there are 3 one is a ground which the harness takes care of.

and yea the plugs probably arent switched up. its all because of the wiring the harness does for the o2 sensor. it effects most of the other sensors. youll have to forgive me for being so vague, but its a real pain to explain without a diagram.
