Default I've searched...but i still need help w/ 04 civic speakers

Aye Aye Aye. Honda sure made changing out the speakers in an 04 civic a lot of trouble. So i'm guessing i have to remove the entire rear dash to put in a set of new speakers, but i don't know how to remove everything. any help and hints would be greatly appreciated. i'm doing it for a friend so i really dont' wnat to break stuff if it's not my car. (plus she's the hottest girl i know) haha. Wish me luck and thank you in advance.

yeah, most of the older hondas are really easy to do. a lot of them you can just remove the speakers w/out worrying about any pannels or anything. But i think on the newer models to save production cost honda has made it a bit more complicated adn now you have to remove the entire rear dash and possibly seats in this 04 civic? anyone w/ a good how to description or web page can you help me out? thanks

i believe if you go in the trunk there should be 4 screw holding the cover on in the back. might wanna check that out before you remove the entire deck..lol

that's how it should be, however, the speaker covers are part of the deck. it's like the entire rear dash came from one mold. so the speaker covers don't come off...the entire rear dash is the speaker cover. i didn't see any screws and from what i've read so far you have to remove the entire back seat. not sure how to do this. any help?

You mean the rear deck? On my 2000, and I assume 7th gens, you have to pull the tops of the rear seats, then the side panels, then the rear deck. It's all held on by friction clips. Total PITA.

Yea im pretty sure the whole rear deck has to come off. Should be pretty simple. I would recomment investing in a panel popper tool.
