Default 13 Second GSR'S

Im just curious to know how many of you with GSR'S are running 13s with just CTR Cams and the usual bolt ons. Trying to decide what route I wanna go wit my GSR hybrid.

i dount that many gsr owners have broken into the 13s with usual bolt ons, you'll need like heavy engine work to get that time. Iunno just imo i think its rare.

Sounds pretty impossible with cams i/h/e/c . Might want to try severe weight reduction, slicks, shorter geared tranny with lsd, race clutch.... or just get a jackson supercharger... its a bolt on also

Usual bolt-ons such as I/H/C/E will be a little difficult to run 13's without any weight reduction. With nitrous 13's can happen pretty easily with typical bolt-ons.

so what do GSRs with I/H/E and CTR cams run?. I have a Civic wit GSR and was running 14.6s with I/H/E. Now I got 7lb flywheel and was wondering if CTR cam were good enough to get me into the 13s or did I need to bump go wit somthing like Skunk2

I had a stock bottom/head with itr cams and ran a 14.0 and consistent 14.2-14.3s. I am pretty sure with slicks it would have gotten into the 13s. I sure miss that motor RIP.
And no my car was not gutted. It weighed a portly 2649 without me in it. I was very impressed with what it ran. I did however have just about every bolt on imaginable. So I'm very sure it can happen. Its all about tuning that bad boy.

well I really wanna keep the car as reliable as possible, while at the same time i really have a goal to get the car into the 13s. I know CTRs will be reliable. I know I want to get CTR pistons in the bottem end but im not sure when exactly I will do that because due to money and other things in lfe im going to focus on the head for the season. So basically its about between Skunk 2 and CTR which one will get me into the 13s with the stock bottem end.

For my GSR I have I/H/C/E. 3inch intake, 2in header, 2.25 cat, 2.36 exhaust. I plan on ITR cams and then tuning. ITR tranny and I was hoping for low 14's I ran a 15.4 with Intake only.

Asahi's ITR ran a 13.8 @ 101 with full interior, no spare, Azenis @ 21psi, bolt on's, cam gears, Prelude injectors, A'PEXi Power FC, and ATS 4.929 final drive. Surely a GS-R could do similar w/ maybe a few more mods, maybe aftermarket cams and Skunk2 intake manifold in addition to that other stuff.

13.9 @ 112mph. stock bottom end/head, ctr cams, sx fpr, cam gears, i/h/e, a/c, p/s, and full interior. oh, and 22" slicks. this was on a 2.1 60ft! on slicks with basic bolt-on's, ctr cams, and adj. cam gears you should be able to crack into the 13's.

take that attitude and leave

112mph means it making quite a bit of power, sure, but with a bad launch, or if he let off before the end of the 1/4, it would surely get alot slower ET. Any number of things can keep a car from getting its best ET, but it might still post a high trap speed.

Next time try thinking before you post

But it would also get a slower mph if he let off. 112 is a huge trap speed for the mods he listed.

Yeah well... I just remember the 9-second Mustang at the local track that let off around the 1/8 mi. mark and posted something like a 14 or 15 sec. ET at 170+ mph.

If this is a Full GSR with basic bolt-ons I call BS too. No way did you trap 112mph with basic boltons. You'd have to be making in the upper 200whp maybe even close to 300 to hit that trap speed. Not going to happen with out FI. Most GSRs with basic boltons and ITR/CTR cams are only making at most usually around 165-170whp.

with a good header and exhaust... i'm gonna say yes. oh wait; is this in an eg... i'd hope so

dont forget a decent set of tires, and make sure you lower the air pressure in them to try and get your 60fts down.

its a 1999 coupe, I got a DC JDM 4-1 2.5 going into the high flow cat 2.5 but my cat back is 2.5 so i got to replace that. I also got 15inch rota slips on falken Azenis, My biggest down fall is in my lauch. Im thinking about looking into slicks on steelies this season.
