what to use for rear fill?
i've got a set of infinity perfect 6.1 components in my front. what should i use to fill the back? should i use 2-way or 3-way? for sure i am not gonna put another set of components in the back.. what would be good candidates for a pair no more than 200 off eBay?
i would use nothing.
but if i was forced to use rear fill, I'd probably use the identical woofer in the front as in the rear but one size smaller. no tweeter because it would draw the soundstage away from the front of the car.

i've read numerous threads and opinions about how people prefer to only run a pair of components in the front and not have any rear speakers. I understand that this is prereable for the audiophiliacs who adore sound staging and SQ. I LOVE the sound of that but the only reason i get a LITTLE skeptic about it is when i have passengers in the back seats. will they experience the lovely sound staging and SQ from the back without rear speakers as much as the people in the front seats?
i put higher end speakers in my rear and they are what i channel most of my power to since they are 6x9's they sound better then the 6.5 in the front makes it more of a surround sound feel to it

in short...no not really. theres too many things blocking the sound coming from the front to get the true experience as you would get from the front. but even with rear speakers they wont be able to enjoy that anyways. are you willing to sacrafice the quality of your staging and imaging so the rear passangers can have average at best sound or would you like to go all out front for you to enjoy and still have the rear passenegers be able to hear the music. that ones up to you.

That's actually a good thing. Imagine if your passengers would try to drive your car at the same time as you?
Leave them with some music at least.

yeah...and while you're at it get in the trunk and see how it sounds? and maybe in the engine bay. basically get in all the spots where you're not going to be listening to the music from and then tell us how it sounds.
your passengers will still have music and its not going to be any worse than with rears so why spend money on something that doesnt improve the sound?
Odessa, explain why the audio sucks with no rear speakers and dont just say because it does. you have yet to back up any of your claims in this post and in others regarding rear speakers.

Are you serious? Passengers will enjoy the music in the back seat just the same regarding of rears/no rears?

We already went through this and I'm too lazy to go through all of it again.
