Default WON'T GO INTO REVERSE

I had an ACT stage 1 clutch installed about a month ago. Everything was fine until Friday. On my way home I went to put it into fifth and it went in kinda hard. I didn't think much o fit until I got home. When I went to leave it wouldn't go into reverse. Every other gear is fine, it moved the car a little tonight. I checked the linkage going into the tranny and everything looks good. I'm thinkin maybe internal linkage. The car has 187K on it. Anyone have this problem?
If it does need a tranny will a 6 speed type R work? it's a '95 gsr

if it suddenly won't go into any gear with the engine running
but when the engine is off, it will go into every gear, than the problem is the clutch/pressure plate is broken
