Default oem Honda Alarm Install Problem!!!

i bought the factory alarm from H and A accesories for my 00 civic si and installed it tonight in the freezing cold. Its just an added upgrade to keyless entry. Anyway the alarm arms and i tested the doors/truck/hood and it the horn goes off like its supposed to. HOWEVER the LED doe not blink when arming, disarming, or when the alarm is actually going off. The only time the LED lights up is when the car is on and running. It just flashes rapidly and never stops until the car is off, and when it flashes it lights up very dull.. Can someone point me in the right direction!!!
