I just bought a 1991 Integra with 165K miles on it. It has an automatic transmission. Many times when I shift it into Park, the Park light does not come on and it is locked in park. After some time, the Park light comes on on the dash and the shift is umlocked. What could be causing this? Could it be the gear position switch, the shift lock solenoid or maybe the key interlick solenoid or something else? This is driving me crazy. When I stop somewhere, even to pick someone up I am hesitant to put it in Park.
