Default check engine light flashing

i need a little help figuring this one out. i got an 02 2dr accord 3.0 and the other day when i started it up the maintenance required light came on with all the other lights like normal when you startit up, but then it started blinking. it flashed 10 times then stopped. it does this everytime i start it. the car seems to run completely normal. does anyone know what this light means or if the flashing is a code or something. if theres a problem i want to nip it in the bud. if anybody has any ideas id love to hear them.

maintenance required light means time for some normal maintence. it is set to come on at so many miles i believe. nothing is wrong. its programed by honda to let you know its time. look in your owners manual and it should say what needs to be done a X amount of miles. filters, belts, or whatever. hope that helps may not make aot since.

check engine light is not the same as maintenace require light

MRL is just a mileage reminder, it does not have any sensors that warn you about anything other than mileage. it's a reminder that scare old fart and grandma to wet their pants so they will bring the car to honda on bowling night

i just hit 43k. seems like an odd number for scheduled maintenance. is it really necesary to have it checked out or can it be ignored? or can it be turned off so it wont blink anymore?. i didnt get a manual when i bought the car 7k ago so i havnt read up on this stuff. i probably need to get one.

thanks for the info guys
