What motor did the LSD tranny come off of? Its a full tranny right? If so then it should fit without a problem.

If its a B-Series transmission. The whole transmission. Will bolt right up. If you are just changing the LSD. Then it might not fit. The si has a smaller differential I heard.

We need to know EXACTLY which tranny you have. A "B16" tranny could be one of many different trannies.

Y21
S4C

Or one of like 5 different cable trannies too.

Which one do you have?

Assuming that you're talking about a US hydro B16 tranny...

The bolt pattern on the ring gear in the LS and B16 transmissions is different from the pattern in the GSR/ITR transmissions.

Again you're vague with your "lsd from a DC2" comment.

If you want to put an ITR lsd into a B16 transmission you will need to use a ring gear out of a US ITR or GSR transmission (one with the 4.4 final drive). Change the ring gear and it will drop right in.

Next time, put a little effort into your post if you want people to bother replying to it.

...but if the transmission from the B16A is a JDM then the LSd could be a direct bolt-in.

Hence why it's important, as Jeff said, to be thorough with your posts when asking questions.

hello, I got more information. The B16 gearbox is a S4C ive got the LSD at my house. There is no final drive with it. Do you think I will still need the FD from the GSR or type R?

Would there be numbers on the LSD that I could give to you or anything?

Thanks

Daniel

Okay you're going to need the ring gear and ideally the countershaft/pinion shaft from a GS-R/Type R tranny.

Or if you've got the extra cash, just get an aftermarket final drive set such as the ATS 4.929FD or the JDM ITR 4.78FD.

See some people might say that you could just use the ring gear because the S4C and GSR/Type R both use a 4.400 ring and pinion set, but IMO you never want to mix and match the ring gear and pinion shaft.

Why is this? Possible clearance issues?

Hey, thanks for the reply!

So there is no need to machine the box? I heard the diff is meant to be a little bigger?

If you look carefully at the ring gear and pinion set, they have matching horizontal grooves that line up perfectly when the tranny is assembled.

I've seen a S4C ring gear next to an ITR pinion shaft and the S4C had two grooves and the ITR pinion only had one groove. I'd imagine that'd make for a noisy final drive.

No machining that I'm aware of, but you will need to get the same type of bearings found on the LSD diff (there are tapered or sealed) and you'll also need to have someone reshim the diff with shims that can be ordered in varying thicknesses from Acura.
