Hands down nothing even comes close to the Helms manual. . This is the same manual used by honda at the dealerships.

Genuine Honda shop manual. Helms and Chiltons both suck, they only cover common repair processes only and are mainly.... incomplete, and partialy inaccurate.

You are an idiot, or you just were thinking of the wrong one, the Helms book is the same one Honda mechanics use, Haynes and chiltons are the books autozone and pepboys sell, the Helms book is the best book by far 1500 pages

While Helms is the best out there from what I've heard, definately pick up a Haynes manual for your car first. Only ~ $14 from Autozone, Pepboys, etc, this will tell you how to do most of the work you will be doing.

By the way, how much is a Helms manual?

No, you are the idiot. I am an ex Honda tech, and you really need to have accurate info before you open your pie hole. Haynes, Chiltons, and Helms all suck, period, get over that fact. They have basic repair info only. You cannot do in depth repairs such as AC work or any other advanced system or component work using those pieces of crap. WE Honda Technicians used genuine Honda shop manuals, not Haynes or Chiltons, or Helms. For those interested, many of the manuals are available on line,

http://www.honda.co.uk/owner/workshopmanuals.html

otherwise you can order them from various sources. Try searching around in Hemmings for leads. The 94 models are the same as the 95, 96 and 97 with suppliments, so if you can find a 1995 or 1996 take it.

No Hondaman56 if you were a honda tech then I'm glad you never worked on my car. I DO work at a honda dealer and the manual that we are sent every year for the cars and new modles FROM HONDA is the Helms manual. This is the only manual that they use. If you would like I can give you the phone number to honda and you can order one from them direct and see what comes in the mail . I live 45min from there biggest plant in north america. Better yet I will pick one up for you if you would like.

As for all data and Michtell on demand these are only used for getting flat rate time for techs to charge work off on, and personally they stiff the techs 90% of the time. They are way off on there repair times.

The difference between the service and shop manual is that the shop manual with come with an extra book for the elctrical system. It will so all the wiring with acctual pic's and all the harness pin outs.

ok, tell me something. When I was working on installing my rear seatbelts in my hatch, there was a problem. I was on the phone with the shop I bought them from while i was looking at my Helms manual and he was looking at his genuine Honda shop manual. He scanned and emailed me a few pages and they looked exactly the same as my Helms manual. So if Helms isn't so good then why did it look the same as the genuine Honda shop manual? I don't just mean similar, they were exact. Same pictures and writing all in the same location.

Haynes and Chiltons are no where close to what a Helms is. Have you ever looked at a Helms manual? It doesn't sound like it. Helms manuals have very good descriptions and detailed pictures to help you understand what your doing. They are also year specific. Haynes and Chiltons aren't year specific and they have a more general description with pictures that aren't always right. Hanyes and Chiltons are only what, a couple hundred pages long where as the Helms manuals are more like 1200+ pages long. Helms manuals go into good detail.

I believe you can also buy wiring and other suppliment manuals from Helm Inc. for your year and model specific car.

chiltons/haynes are worthless....ive used the chiltons from autozone for a couple of DIYs and it is almost always incomplete or innacurate. I had to do a lot of improvising and guesswork because it didnt give me nearly the information i needed.

To me Chiltons are always sketchy.....avoid. Haynes are worth having because there are REAL photo's that often help. Helms is the most complete and considered the best but some illustrations are lame.... same holds true with my Factory Toyota and GM manuals illustrations suck.

The cd 7 cd9 listed on the above mentioned website seems to be only for a 4 cyl Honda Accord. Any idea where I can find a Helms for a 95 Accord with 6 cyl?
