Need a little help... B16 information
Okay, Im talking to some guy that wants to trade me his B16 Crx. The b16 was turboed but he is taking the kit off to make it a fair trade. With the kit fully of the motor, other than headers, what will be needed to make the motor stock again? I dont know much about turbo set ups... thanks for the help...
You will also need an intake of some sort. Depending on what kind of "kit" this is, there may be other parts you will need. Most likely however, just an intake, header, and possibly an oil pan.
It all depends on how stock the motor is. For instance, has compression been lowered by some means to make the motor more turbo friendly? This could certainly be a concern, as a low compression B16A would certainly be most sluggish in allmotor form. And this compression change could have been affected either by a thicker head gasket (easy to change) or lower compression pistons (harder and more expensive to change). Changes could also have been made in the form of special turbo cams, inatke manifold, or stronger rods. Although better rods are certainly a good thing, whether turbo or allmotor.
if hes taking the turbo off then he should be putting the car back to driveable condition,
i kept all of my stock parts so that if i ever take the turbo off its easy to put back to na,
on my car id just have to put the intake, header back on, and swap out the oil pan!
