i was reading an oldschool hondatuning mag and they swapped a zc tranny onto a d series motor...i was just wondering if it was a closer ratio tranny...could a sohc zc tranny be put on a y8?

 

yes all d series tranny's are interchangeable. but isnt the ZC a Cable tranny?. if you are lookin for a good close gear ratio tranny i would think about the JDM D15b. Some come with LSD and are very nice from what i hear.

Yes, considering it's all D-series. Just make sure you get a hydro tranny, not cable. Basically it has to be '92 and up.

 

Your Y8 tranny is your best bet. Unless you can get a d15b LSD tranny.
