I have owned 2 civics from 92-95, both in which the ash tray light did not work.

I know nothing major but why? I want one in my hatch to work but it wont. I replaced the bulb but nothing. The cigarette lighter works fine, but no ash tray light

Anyone else have this problem? Wht did you do?

and does it go on with the dash lights or is it on the minute the key turns to aux.?

check fuses

 

There is no fuse for JUST the ash tray light......

anyone else?

 

check the wiring on top of the ashtray bracket. see if there are any continuity

 

i never noticed mine working. i want it to work im going to go check it

 

mine doesnt work either...but im not even sure if there is one in my car

 

mine works, for some reason i have a green bulb lol.

but yea like the other guy said check the wiring cuz thats how i fixed my lighter

 

See i dont get it, there are so many that dont work.....but then some people have working ones......

Check bulb.

Check plug behind the console (does your cig lighter even work? if not, then it's the plug).

Check fuses under dash.

IMO.. i wasted like 60 bucks buying 3 diff ashtray consoles and none of them worked. sadness
