Default Any cam options for a 94 cx? (D15B8)

So I'm up about 25HP after tweaking ignition timing, intake, manifold, throttle body and exhaust. Wondering if there are any other cheap and quickly installed mods for my engine.I'm wondering if there's a cam I can quickly drop in. Only thing I can think of other than cams & pulleys is porting work or a swap which will result in too much downtime for my daily driver. Obviously there's tons of cams out there but haven't been able to find anything for 8valve SOHC.

Thanks!

Why are you modding this engine?

With the money you spent and are about to spend you could of had a decent swap.

Do you have a dyno to back up your claim of 25 hp from IHE, TB and Timing. On that engine it probably made 10hp at the most.

True that ^. Ditch the D and get a swap......I have CX and its not worth modding the engine at all. Just my opinion.

I rather save and get a B16 and add I/H/E and be happy for life than keep trying to make my 1.5L 8valve with a CX tranny to be fast....

I've got a dx bottom(i think its the same as the cx) with the vtec ex head (mine-me). With only an intake/muffler in a gutted cx, its fun as hell. of course, i have my suspension done up as well, so maybe thats where the fun comes from

Im piecing together a turbo for it. i think that a mine-me with a turbo is plenty in a cx. IMO investing in big$ swaps is foolish if you cant really afford it. work with what you got. get a vtec head and you'll be happier.

plus, i hear that the CX TRANNY is the biggest hold on power. swap in the ex tranny and pick up close to a whole second in some cases.

ex tranny, and uberdata.
You could add a d16z6 head, but it might not work if you pistons.

Default So what are my options for head swaps without touching the block?

Am I going to need to swap out the ECU? or is that only needed if I get a VTEC head?

Is there any change in compression ratio between any of the 1.6L heads?

I think you mean 2.5 hp... not 25...

You need to get a d15b7 (dx) head. It's a 16 valve head. Then get the p06 ecu (dx) for the d15b7. It makes all the difference in the world. I have a b7 in my cx and it had a p09 (d15b8) ecu. I ran 17.5's in the 1/4 with a cx tranny. Now I have a p06 (d15b7) ecu with a cx tranny and I ran a 16.1 in the 1/4. Wil at exospeed has awesome cams for a d15b7.

No, you are not. Besides, if you were...that transmission sucks. You'll still be going slow even with that extra power.

Nope. The CX is the worst perfoming Honda Motor made post 1991.

Turbo would be your best bet. A guy here has a VX turbo and says its pretty peppy. The problem is your motor is severly restricted, and has a long transmission. I'd personally recommend getting a full JDM D15B swap with transmission and then going from there.

A6 and B7 have the same head casts.
