Default Xmas was almost ruined.......oil leak

My Xmas was almost ruined. I didn't let it get to me though. Its Xmas day and I am putting presents in the car that I am about to go deliver. I crank the car up to let it warm up. I go inside and when I come out, ALLLLLLLL of my oil is on the ground running down the street.
So of course I turned the car off and proceeded to get my jack and jack stands. I got under the car to see where the oil was coming from. It seemed to be shooting from the oil pressure switch, so luckily we had an 24hr Autozone that was open on Xmas. I got that and put it on. I started the car and it was still literally shooting out the oil. I got a little closer and saw that it was coming from the engine oil cooler. It was the gasket. So today I got that from Honda ($1.86). Now my leak is all fixed. I would like to say thanks to H-T for helping me out (via search Archives) It is just funny how little gaskets can cause big problems. So if you have an oil leak and can't figure it out, look in this area also.

I do have one small problem which I think is something I did. When I start the car, the oil light stays on. When I drive it is blinking or sometimes it stays off. I think that I didn't screw the little sensor wire on tight enough and its coming loose or do you all think that the switch is defective?? I couldn't find a tool that fit over the screw down nut.

Thanks for reading my story and Happy New Year to everyone.

Damn!!!!!!!!!!! No one cares huh?? In the Prelude forum, it seems like no one responds to you unless you have Vtec or a turbo project going. Man!

thanks for caring also the screw won't tighten down anymore. A friend gave me a Honda oil pressure switch today, so I may get around to putting it on tomorrow. I am getting tired of watching the light flash on and off while driving and when I stop it stays lit. Also no more aftermarket OPS for me. Thanks for caring about a sister.

if when you replace the switch the light is still flashing - i'd get your oil pressure tested asap with a pressure gauge - you may have done some damage for the short time your car was running with mass oil loss - really depends how much flowed onto the street tho i guess. (you did say ALLLLL) I'm hoping not - because i don't want to ruin your xmas ):

I lost damn near all of my oil. When I drained the little that was left, there was probably about 1 qt left. Luckily when the oil light came on and then all the oil came out, I was only warming up the car, meaning I hadn't moved the car. Just to think of what could have happened if I had started driving and got on the highway. I usually do about 70-80mph.
