Default F22B fit D16 tranny???

I have a 93 civic ex that threw a rod out the block, and I just put a new f22b2 in my girlfriends 94 accord. Now I have her old f22b2 laying around. Will the transmission from the d16 series fit the f22? I want to swap the 2.2 in the old civic without changing much. Can it be done? Adam

No, not as easy as you want it to be. The transmission wont bolt up, and you will need aftermarket mounts for the F22 into your EJ. It can be done, but is a slight headache - i started on this swap, but stuck with my B-series for now.

no it wont work. I'd like to get more in detail why it wont work, but to cut it short. Its not easy, it'll cost you more time and money. get the right replacement motor and it'll be much easier.

Umm incase anybody wasn't clear on this HONDAS ARE 4 BANGERS!!! It's not made to go fast. With that said, they HP is in my other car, an 87 ex Highway patrol 5.0 mustang with a carbed 306, world class 5 speed and 4.10 gears, among other things, wanna race? My other cars have been a 66 mustang with a 93 cobra 5.0, an '80 cobra with a '66 K-code 289 with 351W heads ect ect, a 87 LX 5.0 5 speed that went low 13's, and a 93 LX that went 12.89's before selling it, on all motor, with full interior, power everything, system and street tires. So with this in mind, ya the Z3 fenders ADD 20+ hp in the "honda" world. Come to PHX anytime, i'll be at firebird spanking new LS1's. Adam

Hey FW- put some Z3 fenders on your snowblower? I bet it would let the snow shoot out faster or something...

And Mr. Mustang-

You have a crappy domestic car that makes lots of horsepower in a straight line. I'm sorry but those 5.0's aren't the greatest cars in the world. Sure they're cool and fast...but you can do better.

Ask a stupid ? and you get a stupid answer...

How about this question for ya smartypants:

Will your T-5 transmission bolt right up to a 3.4L DOHC 32 valve V8 from a Taurus SHO?

Have fun!

I agree with the sharing knowledge, thats why i am here. Also I have been a registered user on Corral.net for over 4 years, I share my knowledge of domestic cars there and when i have a question of hondas, I come here. But I do no appreciate getting dumb remarks like im trying to make a honda fast with fenders. Thats way to immature for me. Thanks for the people with answers to my question without the side comments. And I will still be on Hondatech.com as long as I own two hondas. And yes, I like the ride in the accord better than the stang, thats what its for, and it has 4 doors, the stang is the fun car. Adam

Evil nic??? Thats a lot of work for such a slow et? Your talking about motor swaps, into a strip down car with no a/c, P/s, carpeting, sound ins. ect ect, with a motor that came out 10 years after the car. I can put slicks on my 5.0, with gears, and pull the front sway bar and run low 13's. WITH my P/S, A/C, full weight, all options car, and do road trips, WHO did more work?? Thats what I thought, your not going to win this argument with 5.0 mustangs for $ per HP. Adam

PS> after that i can do all the bolt on's and run 12's, and then, never mind, im going to bed. Let me know how the Rex handles with a K20 and how the nice dinner date went with the wife goes in the rattle trap you've made.

booooooooo... import vs domestic thread.

quit the yappin.

to answer the question NO unless you have a custom adapter plate made. i think bisi or someone with a pretty quick SOHC setup on here has an f22 mated to a b16 tranny with a custom adapter plate.
