Synthetic for High mileage
Do u guys recommend me to swtich to synthetic? I did a compression test on my teggy and came
#1 220 #2 220 #3 222 #4 220
The gsr now has 111k now, I had used Castrol Hi Mileage since I bought it.

At 111k, stick with conventional oil. A switch to synthetic at such high mileage may result in the detergents in the synthetic oil breaking the gunk that has formed in small cracks in seals over time, causing leaks. If it aint broke dont fix it.
Thanks for the info guys...anybody else's uses castrol? what would u suggest for the winter 10-40w?

no they are not. they have are better than regular oil. thicker viscosity as well as some esters present in the blend.

just stick with the high mileage oil. it is not a GF-4 energy conserving oil like the 30wt. conventional oil. HM oils has a thicker viscosity than conventionals which will give you that extra bit of cushion before the oil drops out of grade due to high temperatures. as oil temperature increases, the viscosity of motor oil decreases.
