Intake Manifold upgrade, What is this EVAP component???
Hi guys,
New to the forum and hoping you can help me. I am upgrading the intake manifold on my 94 civic CX with a manifold and throttle body that I'm pretty sure came off a DX (got it from a junkyard a while ago).
All the hoses on the 2 manifolds match up except for one. On my original CX there is something on the back of the manifold to the far right. It is a little black cylinder (1" tall, diameter of a quarter), apparently electronic. There is an electrical connector on it and a smal hose that goes to the EVAP canister. The new manifold does not have the hole for the hose or the bracket for this cylinder. They both have a hose that goes from the throttle body to the EVAP, the old CX manifold just seems to have this aditional hose along with some sort of sensor or other electronics. Anyone know what this thing is? And can I disable/ignore it? Leaving an open hose to the EVAP system doesn't seem like a good idea...
Thanks
Greg
