im currently building my b16 and ive gotten to the point where it's time to choose pistons. it's going to be n/a. my boss keeps saying "dude you an idiot, your going to ping so bad without race gas" i say "without a good tune i will" now keep in mind my boss is a muscle car guy and doesent know jack about honda's. im just starting my first build and i want to be sure. thanks! i know im going to get flamed but keep in mind you didnt have to open this thread. oh one more thing 91 is the highest octane offered where i live

It would help to know what octane gas you have available at the pump that you will run.

But anyways, even if its only 91, it can be done. Just get it tuned.

 

im running 11.3:1 in my gsr and NO PING up to 8600rpms its untuned, stock gsr fuel pump (now 255 in crx) and my afr varies from 11.4-14 ...still put down 170whp/120wtq

i think you should be fine.

edit: we ALL know how unbelievably shitty Arizona gas is

LOL.. I ran fine on shitty westcoast 91 octane with my 12.2:1 LSVTEC.
