car is shaking badly when i accelerate, what can it be?
Hey, i've got ideas on what it could be but i just want to get your feedback before i start replacing parts. symptoms are basically that the car shakes but only when accelerating and mostly in 2nd,3rd and 4th gear between 3-5k rpm. I dont feel it in the steering wheel only in the car and i doesnt do it when going at a steady speed or when coasting out of gear. also the steering wheel does not shake at all so i dont think my rim is bent or it has anything to do with the wheel balance. and both my axles are new. what do you think? TIA

just because your axles are new doesn't mean they aren't the problem. i'd say its the inner joint of your axles. it will especially be your axles if they're aftermarkets (autozone or whomevers re-man'd axles). take the axles back on lifetime warrenty and get a new set. if they are brand new honda axles, then you might have a broken belt or some other rim/tire problem. if it where alignment (and usually wheels) you feel it in the steering wheel, and it would increase with speed, not happen under acceleration. my bet is you have re-man'd axles and they aren't that great, just get another set, they're free.

how can you tell if the inner joint of axle is bad?

Yeah its a possiblity that the axles are bad, all motor mounts were replaced 3 months ago and then i did the axles right after. i thought it might be a tie rod end or the lower control arm ball joint. any chance of that ?

if you have the symptoms described above, that's a telltale sign of bad inner joints.
How do I know? I've been through 4 sets of reman. axles since this past summer before I finally got a decent set that DOESN'T vibrate.
