Merry Belated Christmas...

I've got some replica CTR side markers for my 97 EX and I'm not sure how to go about wiring them. And what I mean by this is I'm not sure how the CTR markers are wired over in Japan. Are the side marker lights always on when your parking or headlights are on? OR do they only light when your activate a turn signal or your hazards? I'm sure there are a half a dozen different ways I could wire them, but I'm looking for the actual level of function one gets on a true CTR application. As an example, the side markers on a BMW are only lit when the corresponding signal is activated, all other times, it remains off. Thanks for the help!!!

 

they are only lit when turn signal is used.. off when parking lights and headlights are on...

 

not sure which wire it is, but an easy way to wire them is to one of the two wires that run to the front turn signal. one wire is always one when lights on, and one wire is on when turn signal on. easy way to wire them.

 

Thanks for the replys guy... that answered my question. I wasn't sure if I'd have to incorporate a relay or something to make it work right. I used a relay pack to have my 'city lights' turn on with my parking lights but swith off when the actual headlights or hi-beams were clicked on...

 

Can you explane to me how you did this im interested in doing mine the same way. Right now they are on all the time (the city lights that is).

 

splice your turn signal wire to the side marker harness. DON'T splice the running light wire that is also next to the turn signal wire. you only want the side markers to blink when you're making a turn or hazard. check the search engine for more info on the wires.
