Remove the 32mm sealing bolt then You have to hold the C-clip open with a C-clip spreader or something that works the same and wiggle the case it will come off, took me a Little time to get it open the first time I did it.

Sorry to bump a 6 year old thread guys, but like a noob I am stuck on this step and hopefully I'm just overlooking something. The case will wiggle open about an inch with some prying but then gets stuck, so I came and did some searching here on HT and found this post, went to the tranny, took of the cap on the back and sure enough there is the little clamp.

Now if I'm not mistaken, this clamp does not come off right? I see no possible way to take it off as it just sits in that little groove in the little hole, so I had my brother hold it open as wide as it goes while I tried prying the case open but to no avail, the case still just opens up about an inch. Maybe less than an inch.

Very embarrassing since I've been trying to get it off for the past 4 hours lol.
I have the feeling I'm overlooking/overthinking something. Any help, comments or criticism is greatly appreciated.

That's the way to do it. It's tricky, but having someone hold the C-Clip open while you pry is the easiest way to do it. You may need to insert two prybars/flatheads on either side to split the case straight up in an even manner. Becareful not to damage any internals or the mating surfaces with whatever you are using to pry.
