im ready to put my bottom end togeather on my h22, when i bought the motor it was all apart from a friend, i need to buy new bearings,i had the crank polished and some other things done, but i measured all the crank jurnals, and got the codes of the crank and the motor for the sizes, because this is my first build i have no clue what to use for oil clearence, and i have no clue how to figure out what bearing colors to get because i dont have the bearings to use plasticgauge on. so how do i go about this. if any one has like a color to thickness chart, or has advice or can help me please respond or PM me.

plastigauge or mic'ing everything out are the only ways to get bearing codes (sizes).

It will be in the factory service manual. You should pick one up if you putting a bottom end together. Seriously the best 60 bucks you will have spent in a long time!! It has a chart in the manual.

there should be stampings on the crank and the block. they correspond with each other and give you the factory bearing colors.
