need a better turbo setup for my gsr..buying a new turbo
This is what im looking for, a setup with minimal lag (who isnt) ,has to fit my revhard manifold (the turbo i have now is a T3/T4),and wont fall off in the top end on my gsr.. I have a rev hard manifold downpipe ect and the turbo has to be 5bolt..im only running 5.5psi now. my car will be tuned to 7or8psi with uberdata. i dont intend on pushing more than 300hp to the crank so say max 280whp. and my turbo works fine its a t3/t4 it reaches 5.5psi at around 3500rpms(starts reaching boost at about 3000) and would want better spool up than that if possible... i was thinking about a 50trim 63a/r T3/T4...? to be honest my knowledge on turbo is limited but im learning. im going to buy a 5bolt turbo ,want a better one than i have and of course sell my old one because its a 4bolt and wont work with the downpipe and retain ac. Ive decided already not to swap the housings.. id like to hear any input thanks

the .60 compressor 50 trim / .63 turbine will be good for 450 hp. You should be fully spooled by 4400 or lower with only 8 psi. It will pull up to and a little over redline.
Since you only want 280whp and fast spool, I would go with the GT28RS ball bearing turbo. It will handle about 300whp max and will spool quickly.

what size trim turbo do you have now?
I have a t3/t4 57 trim with .60/.63 ar's. I hit 10psi by 4700rpms, I decided to switch the compressor housing with a .48 for faster spool, I haven't tried it yet, but it was a cheap alternative to buying a new turbo. SHould still have great top end and quicker spool.
Just a fyi, I have a Precision turbo 57 trim .48 compressor housing for sale. 5-bolt downpipe style.

Do you not mean a .48 TURBINE side? Not compressor.

do i really need a t3/t4 or could i use a smaller t3 turbo but then with a stock motor isnt the cylinder pressures to high when boosting on low rpms on a stock internal gsr motor...?
