Exedy twin plate or Tilton Clucth?
I wanted to get the opinion of some users of these products before i make my descision
I have a fully built turbo integra everything is done except the clutch setup
I am looking to make between 450 and 550 whp
I use the car on the street almost daily and plan to do some autocross/SCCA driving with the car, i may take it to the drag strip a few times but thats not really what i am looking to do with the car
The tilton i was told with the hydro release bearing is around 1900
The exedy i seen for around 1400
I was told that i would have a hard time finding replacement parts for the exedy where as the titlon would be easily accessible
Also i was told that the tilton is tough for every day driving in that it is so light that when you come to a quick stop you kinda have to keep the revs up to prevent it from stalling. i dont know if this is also true for the exedy
I dont know about any chattering at low rpm from either of them
Any info would be greatly appericated as i am in the market to buy within the next few months
Also any deals anyone can get on these please let me know

you get the tilton with the stock flyhweel option that is what is reccommend if you are going on a street setup. The tilton is easily rebuildable and many local tilton dealers can do it
For all the high horsepower cars that Adam(kataku2k3) and I do we us the tilton twin disk with that stock flywheel. Also recommend the tilton hydro release bearing. It makes the pedal feel smoother and lighter.
for tilton.
for tilton.
there is no modifaction (to flywheel itself) needed to run the tilton on the stock flywheel ?
Also the hydro bearing i assume takes care of most noise problems poeple have with heavy duty clutches ?

Tilton modifies the stock flywheel to get it to work with the twin disk clutchs. Or if tilton will not do it then you can contact taylor race engineering and they will do it for sure.
The hydro release bearing doesent have anything to do it the nosie that you hear from the tilton twin disk. The nosie that you are hearing is from the 2 floater plates when the are released. I dont think there is away to get the noise away.

dont use the stock flywheel... 1/2 the reason for a twin disk is to use lighter smaller clutches so that you have a lower MOI, this means the car revs faster and dosnt use as much power to spin the clutch/flywheel. why **** it up and stick a heavy *** flywheel and loose 1/2 the advantage of a twin disk? i mean, **** a single disk can be made to hold the power just fine. use the chromoly tilton flywheel and quit being a *****.
