front x member in the way!!! 88-91 civic
just like it says, im trying to run a downpipe for my 14b/hf setup on my 90 hatch (d16a6) and i was wondering if anyone had sucessfully used the stock dsm o2 housing when making a downpipe work or if they know anyone that has... can i cut the front cross member or will that damage the structural integrity of the vehicle, or can i bash it in really well??? i have a downpipe already fabbed that cam off a eg hatch and worked excelent with the stock o2 housing and i kind of want to use it if possible, any info or if anyone knows where to buy one that will work i would love to know... thanks

i made my own downpipe on my 14B setup, without cuttin the x-member, and using 2.5" pipe and the downpipe comming thru the pass side

I have a jimfab bar but havent had a chance to put it on the car yet.. From what I can see its made very well and has excellent craftsmanship..

on our crx we didnt have the extra $$$ to spring for a crossmember we are using a t3 60-1, and we had some clearance issues too, all we did was cut the cross member with a saw'zall and because the crossmember is a very important part of the front end, after we remoced the C shape we needed we welded it all back up, braced it with some mild steel on the bottom, and ground it all flat with a grinder, and painted it black. almost looks like it came that way.
i di the same thing when i remove the front mount on the crx crossmembers, to give it that JDM kinda look.
but in order to do this well, you should take it off the car

I feel ya man, all my DP's have been 2.5" and half of them have gone driver, then to center. It's best to go out the passenger side, straight down and to the center. It's a big bitch I think, mine hits the crossmember...but it was either that or the oil pan.
