Default Heat Shield

My heat shield on my 94 Cx is nice and corroded and is abot to fall off the 2 bolts so I figure I might as well take it off and leave it off, my header is just fine, and I just wonder if taking this pos heat shield off would make a real difference. I'll get another time down the line, but a kids gotta pay the rent.

Look, warm up the car and take off the heat shield then touch the header with your tounge

Well aside from your bitter sarcasm, I thank you for your input but if you use such .... "unique" methods as you suggest then maybe I should consider other suggestions first . But if anyone would know maybe a substitue I could do cause this clanking is quite annoying, and I literally have no cash. Its a ceramic coated header if that helps at all

Ok im sorry, work up to early. If you take off that heat shield it should give you a good 5whp difference, maybe more if you have vtech. Let us know how it goes.

Why thank you sir, and I reciporcate the apology for also making a synd (sp?) comment. I am not neccessarily wondering about like hp gain (but thanks for the info, that a neat fact I had not clue about) but more so if I am gonna damage anything like the header, convertor, or god forbid any internals. My buddy removed his just cause he didn't like the look and next thing he knew his rocker arm was shot.

WTF? Are you talking about the exhaust heat sheild that's visible from the top? How the hell would taking that off affect your rocker arms??? If anything, taking it off will just make the under-hood temps a little hotter.
