i took them off the last time we went to the track thats why there all melted, i started seeing a lil cracking after like 800 miles. i just thought it was weird. i well just giving everyone fair warning
I have never put my bfgs above 15psi. IMO 18psi is too high for the track, i have never used mine on the street but even if i did i wouldnt run 32. Maybe the high tire pressure had something to with it.
How long have you owned these tires? How often do you drive with them at 32psi?

Yeah i have heard stories and well first hand with tires cracking like that...
I had some toyos back in 99 , 205/40/17's and i had them on the car for about 1 month.. i went to rotate them and they had those cracks in the rubber....
well i went to get them warrantied and i was told that tires will do that if they dont have the right amount of pressure in them etc, and it can also be caused from driving with low pressure then putting the air in and then letting it out.... ( which would be the case at the track)
I didnt believe him..... so what I did was take my stock wheels and tires and did the same thing... under inflated them by about 8lbs drove on them for about a month and i took them off and it wasnt as bad but they had cracks in the sidewall.

800 miles on drag radials is pretty good. Thats like 800 passes at the track. The rubber gets heat cycled out after too many passes and begins to lose its resiliency.
We get guys that try and daily drive their v700's everyday and are like WTF they only lasted like 1000miles and they are bald. Just because something is DOT rated doesn't mean they can be driven everyday on the street....

Hell, 800 miles is 3200 1/4 mile passes. And like you said, even though they're DOT rated, they're not meant to be driven on everyday.
How do you think they grip so good??? They're soft and melt easy.

Not unless you're racing from one end to the other each time
. 800 miles is a maximum of 1600 passes, if you trailer the car at the starting line and in your garage and only start moving under the engine's own power at the tree. After all, .25 miles down means at least .25 miles back to the starting line, right?

There is a couple of reasons why they started to crack along the side wall. If you have the tire pressure to low the weight of the vehicle breaks down the material on the tire. Or it could be a deffective tire it happens once in a while.
