Default Big things you gave or got.

Yes, another Christmas thread.

Big thing I gave was a First Edition Presentation Edition book titled Bulldozer which was printed in 1951, to my dad. He read it as a kid and has wanted it for a long time but it has been out of print for decades. Earlier this year he had a stroke but didn't know it and lost most of the vision in his left eye (can only see blurs around the edges). In October, the doc said the same thing could happen at anytime with his other eye. I told my sister I was going to buy him this book so he can read it before anything could happen to his other eye. We hopped on ebay and ended up paying a little over 110 for it. His reaction upon opening it today was priceless. Right before dinner (at lunch time ) he came out in the living room and gave me and my sister a hug and started crying after my mom told him why we got it for him. Thats the biggest thing I've ever given and probably will ever give.

I got a Lego set, City Airport (renamed from Century Skyway). I've been wanting it for around 12 years but it had been discontinued. They brought it back this year so now my Lego City is complete (have to rebuild after hurricane "nephew").

Share what you gave/got.

sorry to hear about your Dad's predicament, but it sounds as though you've done right by him.

I gave a DVD player and some kitchen stuff, and got a little cash and a wool coat to replace the one handed down to me by my Dad.

I told my parents not to do a lot for me this Christmas. Didn't feel particularly deserving, lol.

Wifey sent off a check for Expo 5, gave me a 20gig iPod (hot) and a pink Polo shirt (even hotter). Parents gave me a nice check. Others got me some nice little things.

I gave my wife some Tiffany's earings/ring and another set of diamond earings, my mom a new watch and the first season of American Dreams on dvd (I wanna copy these) and my pops a couple of Rolex books.

Great Christmas, hope everyone had a good one!

Pffft.

I have a bottle of it at the house, but only because it was on sale.

Blanton's and Basil Hayden's both own Woodford Reserve.

i got my girlfriend a pioneer deh-8600mp head unit(full color display, motorized faceplate) she had a fit over it in best buy and loves dolphins. She wants to start modding her mustang(appearance and stereo) so I figured this was a good start.

She gave me a few things including a titanium ring

Well,

I thought I'd be a bit more giving than last year so instead of pumping people up with material possessions, I figured I'd be a bit more personal so:

I went to the blood drive 4 times this month and gave blood.
went to the DMV and had them put organ donor on my drivers license
gave free surf lessions for unfortunate/ low income families
planted ten trees
fed a bunch of emaciated and neglected animals all month
donated time to build floats for the local parade
gave surf lessons for free to a girl with really big *****
called the parentals to tell them I was still sucking air

I'm actually just kidding on most of that listed above. ALMOST the whole list is true, but I'll let you speculate on which isn't. Regardless, I wasn't feeling like buying gifts this year. I figured I'd be making a better impact on helping people instead of lining the pockets of some corporate *******, high up in his sky scrapper.

Anyways, happy belated X-mas to everyone and remember Santa is always watching you!

Aloha,
Brandon

to Aquafina

Biggest and best gift I ever got... my daughter.

Biggest I gave this year... Helping to pay for my sister and her family to fly out to spend xmas with us and our parents. My mom gave my sister a minivan since her car is junk and she can't afford anything else right now.

I gave my wife a diamond anniversary ring to replace the wedding ring she lost. So no more car parts for me for a while until I pay that off! Doh!

Another thing I got was from Aquafina... a reminder that sometimes the "little" things are the "biggest" things!
