i just bought my almost new R and i want to make the vtec wake me up like i expect out of a type R.
I have already bought an intake (j's racing carbon fiber tscuba intake), but have not installed it yet- as the car is in storage. i do not want to put a WHOLE exhaust system on now or even within a year, but do want just the upper rpms louder.
so i basically want a few of the other itr drivers to list what part and what brand they think makes their vtec louder OTHER THAN AN INTAKE - like do u think a comptech header is louder than a dc sprts header, or would a test pipe or high flow cat make it louder- but im not looking for a whole setup necessarily...... or just go ahead and get a catback? dont want a loud exhaust all the time tho, i have that now on my civic, id like to keep it toned down until the upper rpms hit
or is it all in the intake?
ok, i think im done now

get a dx crank and weld it to your throttle body, great throttle response and vtec hits louder than ever
do more research
also, have you tried turning up the vtec soloniod?
It will make it louder in the high rmp's...sounds good

Probably because your questions were stupid. If u want your vtec to hit hard do internal work.

im not a ricer. ricers buy cheap *** parts and sling stickers all over there car along with a huge aluminum spoiler... i like to keep the stock look with name brand performance upgrades... i have never seen a ricer with a j's racing intake i asked a plain question asking for individual results with certain products. but it seems like in every post i have ever read here on honda-tech everyone posts stupid comments and acts like they should decide what is a good question or not...
if u read the question, the point is very obvious.. just cause you dont care about the topic doesnt mean it wasnt worthy of asking.
i should stop using the internet, i just end up getting pissed off
the reason i was asking is because my freinds r has a dc sports cat back, comptech headers, aem cai... it sounds alot different from other r's with different products.. i just want a normal sound level at low and mid rpm's but loud at vtec and up

so youre a retarded ricer. you want to buy quality parts that you dont need, simply for the sake of the sound.

Not to make your thin skin bleed but In this statement you have answered your own question : <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by kgsciv »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

Even tho the parts are not of great quality he changed them and that sound you like is the result.

What else do you expect from a "how do i make my vtec louder" post?
Seriously... think about it.

I think you'll be happy when you install the intake. That will make VTEC louder. Different headers won't make a difference. When I installed aftermarket cams VTEC also got louder.
Well, the purpose of putting on an intake it to create more power by adding more air into the engine thus gaining more power. What goes in must come out, so like you said, you want to gain performance, so a catback would help compliment the extra air being put in the engine. Therefore put on a damn catback and BAM, you get your sound!!!

It's not the strength that counts, it's the angle of your dangle!
