Default by how much do port and polish effect

i dont know too much about the inchangeably of p&p and combustion chambers.

let talk about street p&p and not race p&p with just vafc2 and hondata unit s200. If street p&p takes place on a GSR-head...what are the effects of p&p to combustion champers; negatively and positively...assume the gsr block is a complete bone stock block with stock compression. The motor runs bolt-ons, with stock fuel system and ecu.

You're helping the head flow better = More air, w/ more air you'll need more fuel, but its not only about how much the port can flow but, [/b]Tumble and Swirl[/b] are factors when doing porting aswell.

You can increase/decrease the amount of each to your likings. You'll need a tumble/swirl meter to check what you've changed and by how much.

Doing so should yield a better/larger mixture/flow. Leading to a 'better' combustion, which in turn is power.

Hope that helps.

stock compression/stock block.. just get a nice valve job and some port matching, minor work in the bowl area. Nothing crazy is needed, more than likely then not your bottom end won't even 'support' the fulll 'race port'

is it totally safe to fully do head-work and leave the block completely stock. I read some articles that were debating the s2k2 cams or buddy club 3+ or 4 recommened using on 11.0 + compression block....If head work contains p&p, s2k2, valvestrain, springs, then how safe or not safe if leaving the blcok a total stock?

thanx guys

port and polish done right and designed to work with your existing set up can make a world of difference. it can help "awakin" your existing bolt on parts . but truth be told , that if done incorrectly it can hurt your power band if not kill it all together.for a stock bottom end i would recommened a mild port job with a nice valve job .
