Default clutch time

I need to get a new clutch over the next few months. The stock clutch with everything could be 500 $ without installation. What clutches are u guys running and what do they cost in $ with everything?

you can get a NICE clutch (exedy) for about 300...but you may want to get a flywheel too, since you're going to be replacing the clutch anyway...

do you have any dealers (performance parts, not Honda) in Iceland or would you be ordering it from elsewhere?

I posted this in another thread, but it applies here even more. I thought it was kind of cool, so here it is again:

They also gave a formula for calculating the effective weight savings of a lightweight flywheel.

where:

We=effective weight savings
Wf=weight of flywheel
Rf=radius of flywheel
G=gear ratio
F=final drive ratio
Rt=tire radius

We=.5Wf[(RfxGxF)/Rt]^2

In their example, their flywheel was 12.5 lbs lighter than stock, which equated to a perceived weight savings of about 250 lbs in 1st gear! Now that might have to be the most cost effective performance mod...

My clutch went out a couple days before Christmas. Took it to the dealer and it was covered under warrenty. What had happened was the pressure plate broke and they replaced the pressure plate, friction plate, t-o bearing, and some seal. All done with no charge.

I asked this same ? a couple weeks ago and everyone said Exedy. If the clutch was not going to be covered I was gonna buy a TODA clutch and fly wheel, but with it being the holidays..........I chose to just stick with the free one.

My stock pressure plate broke as well and cause major internal dammage to the motor. I had six bent valves and a list of other things that broke. The dealer couldn't believe that the pressure plate had broken and they replaced everything under warranty as well.

I will be looking into getting a clutch for primarily weight saving purposes. My stock one is fine for the occasional dragging I do but I love the idea of saving the equivalent of a few hundred pounds.

ahhhhhh - that's exactly why I bought my 8lb flywheel + cm stage 3 clutch/pp for the cost of $100 less than Acura stock clutch/pp/+installation!!

if u want to get something that will last you basically forever get a cusco super single set, includes disc, pp, lightened flywheel and aftermarket throwout bearing.

also can get OS Giken but is a lil more expensive, but same type of setup.

these will hold up to 400hp so it should last u a lifetime

I just ordered an act heavy duty plate with stock disc. I can take pics of it when i can get it in and email it to you if your interested in act. I also ordered a comptech aluminum 6.75 lb flywheel. I havent heard anyone complain about this fw yet so I'm giving it a try.
